Harbin, China

2024 - Present

Designed for an aviation service–oriented institution in northern China, the new educational building will accommodate approximately 2,000 students. Inspired by the institution’s academic focus and long-term vision, the design embodies the spirit of aviation through an architectural expression of speed, motion, and futurity. These qualities inform the building’s spatial organization and architectural identity, creating a dynamic learning environment that reflects the institution’s aspirations for the future.

The overall architectural form adopts a streamlined, fluid massing strategy. Continuous horizontal lines and interwoven façade openings create a dynamic visual expression, reminiscent of an aircraft wing slicing through the air. The central atrium functions as the spatial hub of the campus, strengthening the connection between different academic programs while symbolizing a “launch platform” for students’ future careers.

While emphasizing a strong architectural identity, the design also prioritizes functional efficiency and user experience. Through clear circulation systems, abundant natural lighting, and integrated greenery, the project establishes a contemporary learning environment that balances symbolic expression with everyday comfort and usability.
