STUDIO KOMA is a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary design practice working across architecture, interiors, and art. Our designs emerge from the dynamic opposition of culture, space, nature, and human life.
We give particular attention to the aesthetics and emotional resonance of our concepts, while maintaining technical rigor.
We work closely with clients, taking time to understand the constraints of each project. Every design step comes with transparent decisions and efficient delivery.
Yuntao Xu is a Licensed Architect with 10 years of experience across mixed-use, residential, and interior projects, spanning conceptual design through construction. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham. Before co-founding STUDIO KOMA, he worked at internationally renowned architectural firms such as MAD Architects and UNStudio.
Shawna Meng has 10 years extensive experiences in architecture and project management. She received her B. Arch from SCI-Arc, and later pursued graduate degree in Landscape Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her previous experience includes MAD Architects, where she focused on large-scale commercial developments and high-end residential projects.
